Gas Crisis 2008 Hits East Point

There is supply. The retailers aren't buying gas as they don't want to pay the wholesale price.

BJ's ran out of gas the day the Hurricane hit, Regular gas anyway. We got a call from someone who just left the pump and the hurricane had barely hit landfall at that point. And, too boot, Very little damage if any was caused to the processing plants and pipelines. I agree with anonymous

It could have had to do with the evac. Before the storm hit, it was nessesary (sp)to get people out of harm's way. I understand that maybe logistics is not the strong suit of everyone. However, when you consume 25% of the worlds oil, it is a day to day process. It would have nothing to do with damage, just supply.
