Les Dames

Today was the Les Dames d'Escoffier Festival. Les Dame is an organization that hosts this fund-raising event each year- the purpose is to provide scholarships for culinary students. Delia has been itching to be invited to participate for years, and this year it finally happened! The price of admission was $75 per person, but that included all of the wine and beer you could drink, and all of the food you could eat. It's held at Serenbe, a beautiful organic farm in Palmetto, GA. It was an impressive event, and I hope we get to attend again next year.

Below are a few pictures from today:

Darn!!! I would have gone and helped!!! I'd been down to Serenbe in the Chattahoochie Hill Country a couple of years ago when they first started advertising. My mega-monied friend, Lynda, was interested in moving from her farm in Cumming. It was too expensive even for Lyn. She ended up in a 3/3.5 in Buckhead. Clever concept, but I don't think it's really taking off or it's just slowly taking off. However, it is a beautiful area and fun to visit. Glad you had a good time!!!

Not taking off? You should see the Serenbe neighborhood that's being built on the grounds! Beautiful, HUGE houses, all with a farm motif-- imagine a 3-story log cabin mansion! You should visit again! I intend to! It's a cool concept!
